How Window Film Works
Solar or Heat control window film reduces heat by blocking solar radiation. Solar radiation (energy), the heat we feel from the sun, is made up of components: 3% ultraviolet radiation, 44% visible light and 53% near-infrared radiation. When sun rays hit a window, some of the energy is absorbed, some reflected, but the majority of it is transmitted through the window. This energy enters the space on the other side of the window and dramatically affects the temperature. It is important to understand the heat rejection ability of the film you choose for your auto, home or commercial building. Ceramic window films are non-metallic and do not contain dyes that may result in discoloration and are often the best option for heat rejection.
