The Ultimate Security and Protection

Not all window films are equal. Security window film adds extra protection to a government building by aiding in the prevention of flying shards of glass. Government buildings are sometimes the focus of malicious attacks from outsiders. In order to protect and secure the individuals inside, this window film provides additional safety from bomb blasts, hurricanes, seismic events, or people attempting forced entry through a window. It is a federal requirement that all government buildings have security window film in place.
The most popular way of installing this type of film is through a wet-glaze attachment system. The film is applied to the window and is anchored through the process of an impact protection adhesive that is applied along the edges of the window film and the window frame itself. This ensures that the window film stays in place to help prevent any flying glass during a damaging event. This attachment system increases the performance of the window film itself. The goal of this installation is to hold the windows glass fragments together; hindering the chance of flying shards all while preventing the entire window unit from dislodging and being sent into the interior of the building during an explosion or storm.
This system also aids in protecting the building from nearby bomb blasts. The residual blast from a nearby building can still cause great damage to the buildings around it. The main purpose of security window film with an attachment system is to protect the livelihood of the individuals inside.
Security window film still provides added protection from fading, UV damage protection, climate control through temperature stability, energy efficiency/monetary savings, EMI protection and decorative design as normal window film does.
Energy savings are quickly realized with government window tinting options as they provide low upfront capital cost and a quick return. Some systems can even provide payback in as little as 18 months. These window tinting films are also very beneficial to older government buildings with single paned windows. Some films are proven to provide the efficiency and protection equivalent to double paned windows at only a fraction of the cost. Protecting classified materials and employees is not an option; it's a necessity.

The video below depicts exactly what a security window film with an attachment system can do in the event of a blast!! Get the protection you deserve and call us today!

The Truth About Window Film

We at All American Window Tinting, Inc., are here to lay it out for you, to inform you properly about window film so you no longer have to deal with misconstrued information. Here are the truths surrounding the art of window film installation:

Fact

Window Film Provides Heat Rejection
- The heat we feel from the sun comes from three sources, 53% is Infrared Rays (IR), 44% is Visible Light Transmission (VLT) and 3% is Ultra Violet Rays (UV). Most window films block 99% of UV rays. The way heat is blocked and how much is blocked depends on the film and the type of glass you have installed in your vehicle, home or office.

Reduces Glare
- Glare control is a simple matter of reducing the transmission of visible light. The darker the film you select, the more light it will block and the more glare it will reduce.

Provides a Clear View with Privacy - Specialty films have been created to allow for high light transmission, all while providing privacy. You can see out but not in!

Reduces Fading - Believe it or not but even your furnishings, floors, artwork and other valuable possessions can be affected by the suns damaging rays. Window films allow greater protection from fading and damage to your belongings. Applying window film to the windows in your home controls the ultraviolet light that passes through your windows.

Saves on Energy Costs - Window film on the windows in your home or office can reflect as much as 80% of the suns heat which will lower your energy costs created by using your air conditioning. This same film will retain interior heating which will reduce heat costs in the colder months and reduce cooling costs in warmer months. The investment you make by installing window tint on the windows in your home or office will be unquestionable. Buildings that are 50,000 square feet or greater are generally in cooling mode 100% of the year, this means that the cooling system is continually working to keep the building at a comfortable temperature. Window film can actually reduce the chances of this happening and help to regulate the interior's temperature. When window film is applied to a vehicle, the car's fuel consumption will be reduced from the heat rejection properties of window film, it actually aids in keeping heat out so your AC doesn't have to run so long or on such a low temperature.

Reduces CO2 Emissions
- the application of window film will reduce energy costs, ultimately decreasing CO2 remissions from the constant running of your  vehicle, home or office heating and cooling system

No Special Maintenance or Extra Cleaning
- For maintenance of your window film all you need is a simple wet and dry towel, dish soap and water combination, or you can purchase a tint safe cleaner at your local automotive store. Note: Don't use any cleaning product that contains ammonia (like blue windex), it eats away at the scratch resistant coating.

Enhanced Appearance
- Window films can be tailored to meet individual customer needs and requirements. Decorative window films add personal style to any space and are a fraction of the cost of laminated panels, patterned or sand blasted glass. This type of film can be easily removed or repositioned as needs or styles change.

Fiction

Will Make Room Dark
- In the past, to block a lot of heat, you had to have a very dark window tint or window film. Technology has advanced quite a bit over the years. This advanced technology allows for a lighter window films with the high heat rejection qualities of a dark window film.

Only Comes in Shiny Silver or Black - Untrue, with new technology window film has advanced tremendously offering a variety of designs and colors to best fit the consumers needs.

New Fad; Not Proven - Window film dates back to the early 1960s.  Originally, window films were made only of a silver base with a highly reflective appearance. Window films continued to grow in design and improvement and over the years with advances in technology, more efficient and various designs became a reality.

Anyone Can Install Window Film -   When it comes to an after market window film installation choosing an expert to do the application is the best way to go to achieve the maximum benefits that window film has to offer. The reason for this is when an amateur does this install there is no way to guarantee the work that is completed. The chances of window film failure are much more likely, and in a lot of cases can eventually lead to window film removal. In order to get the biggest bang for your buck, choose a company that employes only highly trained individuals that actually back the installation with not only a product/manufacturer warranty but a labor warranty as well. When you go this route you are promised an expert quality window film installation with a warranty to cover anything that could possibly go wrong.

Already Have Blinds Don't Need Film - You only receive about 17% of sun ray blockage with blinds. Blinds are a nice window treatment, but doesn't accomplish as much as window film; they can be pretty pricey and may not stand the test of time.

Expensive - Not at all. When you compare the cost of an average window film installation with a similar installation of blinds, shutters, or curtains, window films are very affordable. Window treatments don't allow for much visible light transmission and aren't good would it comes to UV and heat rejection either.  Most window film installations will pay for themselves in just a couple of years through energy savings.

Your Automotive Window Film Questions Are Finally Answered!

Window film is indeed a very delicate after market protection product for your vehicle. Although delicate, they prove to be quite tough, lasting a lifetime. The necessary precautions must be taken to ensure the full life of your window film. Below are some care instructions to give you the tools to ensure the ultimate protection for you and your vehicle.

Drying time - Takes 3 to 5 days but could take anywhere from 30 to 60 days depending on the window film type and climate conditions. Windows may appear milky, hazy, lumpy, or appear to have water bubbles beneath the film…this is normal and will go away. Do not touch or poke at moisture bubbles as this could cause damage to the tint, rather be patient, the moisture will eventually dissipate. For quicker curing time, be sure to leave vehicle in direct sunlight. Don't roll windows down for at least 3 days.

Cleaning - Do not clean interior of windows for at least 30 days. Do not use a cleaner that contains ammonia, as this will eat away at the scratch resistant coating, blue Windex is an example of what should not be used. Its best to clean windows that have window tint with a small amount of dish soap and water solution, or a tint safe cleaner.

Dot Matrix - A lot of vehicles have a dot matrix on the edges of the windows; mostly seen on the rear window and front windshield. When tint is laid over this black dot matrix a white appearance may take effect. This is something that can not be avoided, its almost impossible to get the tint between these tiny raised ceramic dots.

Avoid Tint Damage
- Be careful when taking off your seat belt, if the seat belt is released too fast it could hit your side window, chipping/scratching it. This type of damage is not covered by warranty, so be careful.

Just Not Perfect?
- Remember that window film is an after market product. We strive to reach perfection, but with every after market product some flaws may be visible. Preexisiting flaws on your windows glass can become enhanced after a window film installation. Some contamination between the glass and window film can occur due to dust particles in the air. We do apply window tint in a controlled environment to help prevent such cross contamination, but again nothing is perfect.

At Night - If a window film is chosen that is dark, you may experience visible depletion, meaning that it may be much harder to see out of the windows when driving at night. Also, the defogger on the back may cause some distortion that is unavoidable. The defogger lines on the back window are raised and when tint is applied over this some distortion may occur and there is nothing that can be done to fix this.

Differences Between Window Films
- The window films that we carry are all high-performing color stable and ceramic window films, each backed by a lifetime warranty. They are guaranteed to not turn purple, bubble, blister or peel. We carry window film brands 3M, Huper Optik and Llumar, each film blocks 99.9% of UV rays. The only differences between these films are their brand name and the percentage of solar heat rejection that they possess. Each are metallic free and will not interfere with radio/satellite signals. For a more in-depth look into what each window film has to offer, visit our website at www.allamericanwindowtinting.com.

Vdara Hotel - Las Vegas
Vdara Hotel - Suns Reflective Light
In 2008, Vdara Hotel in Las Vegas had quite a large project that required window film installation. After receiving multiple bids on the project, Vdara chose a competing film that was cheaper and inferior. When this window film was applied much was not considered in its application. There are various factors that play a role in determining what window film to choose for a specific job. For example the type of window, what is trying to be achieved, over hangs, environment and surroundings are all investigated when choosing the best option of window film for that particular project. According ABC News, this was not the case with the Vdara Hotel. Choosing an inexpensive product to save on costs is not the way to go about providing protection, privacy and security. All factors must be taken in to account to ensure the safety of all individuals on the premises. Because of this oversight, many patrons of the Vdara Hotel were affected by the negligence of the corporates decision on the window film installation that took place. Already, this building was experiencing isolated pockets of high temperature due to the buildings curved and concave shape and the hot penetrating sun of the Las Vegas dessert. Once the window film installation project was completed, many patrons that would spend the day by the pool complained of excessive sunburn, melting plastic cups and plastic bags, all due to the selection of the wrong film type. The reason this occurred is because the company that completed the window film installation placed a reflective film over the windows that block about 70 percent of the sun's light. This film was not the right selection for this job, as the reflective film began reflecting all the visible light from the sun. The rays from the sun were actually bouncing off the building and reflecting back onto the patrons below. The pool areas temperature would increase significantly enhancing the solar radiation and UV ray exposure in that area, which ultimately was the cause for all the complaints of excessive sunburn and the melting of plastic objects.
Melted Plastic Bag from Vdara Hotel
Vdara Hotel didn't tackle this dangerous situation right away. In fact they tried alternate means of protecting the area with larger umbrellas and had a plan to put taller plant life in place to block some of the reflective rays that were bouncing of the hotel itself. This would prove to be ineffective as the sun's axis is constantly changing; the objects placed to help prevent overexposure would actually have to be moved every day to accommodate for the shift of the sun.

Window film is put in place to protect, not to harm. So, when deciding on a window film it is completely necessary to follow all precautions and to be sure to choose a film that is going to be beneficial. Therefore, it is very important to choose a company that will explain in detail which window film will be right for the project at hand. Be sure to choose a reliable quality product and a trusted professional installer like All American Window Tinting, Inc., to be sure you reap all the benefits that window film has to offer.

Shield Your Building with the Ultimate Security

Government buildings have to be sure to protect their employees and their patrons from any and all harm; the highest security is required to maintain the safest of grounds. Government facilities have certain codes they must live up to ensure proper security and to preserve the welfare of all that dwell within that building. Special precautions can be taken to establish the highest protection. For instance, the most fragile part of a building is of course its windows. In order to meet or exceed all ideas of protection, All American Window Tinting, Inc., has the solution, Bomb Blast Window Film.
This film was designed to help hold glass together in the event a bomb or other explosives were to be set off in or around your building. By helping holding the glass together, serious injuries as a result of flying glass shards can be minimized. Installing Bomb blast window film is a smart emergency plan and security precaution. Since glass is the weakest point of all buildings in terms of safety and security, a detonated bomb in or around your building would cause glass shards to go flying. These tiny shards turn into propelling shrapnel, ultimately resulting in 90% of all injuries from a bomb blast. This window film provides the highest of added protection by minimizing building damage and ensures building continuity all while shielding those inside.
There are extremists out there that commit horrible acts of crime everyday, leaving their prey hopeless without any warning of attack. These terrible acts can be fought before they even begin. Although it's impossible to determine when and where they will strike, building owners can now improve the safety and security of their buildings by installing this film. Bomb Blast Window Film will ensure that the glass remains intact during an explosion, thus minimizing the chance of possible injury of dwellers within.
Bomb Blast Window Film has other advantages as well. For example:
*  Prevents break-ins and theft of classified government information
*  Protection and safety from broken glass shards from smash and grab burglaries
*  Security from flying debris caused by severe weather/storms
